Notes on The Reef system:

diver mics and ears have been set to a 0 db nominal setting. It is recommended to set diver volumes at 0db at the start of each dive and make adjustments from there as needed.

The noise gate at the reef is functional. During the initial settings, noise gate should be off as it will obfuscate potential sound quality issues. Once settings are in, turn noise gate on as desired. If a divers audio is cutting out, check if the noise gate is what is causing the cut-out.

Once logged in, you will be taken to the top menu of the User Control Interface (UCI) viewer. The top menu will show you all available interfaces in OP. There are two UCI's for dive communications:

Coral Canyon UCI- The controls for The Reef system.

Archipelago UCI- The interface for the Archipelago system.

The Reef QSYS Controls:

Preset Page:

  • -Reef Off- Mutes every input, output and utility option.
  • -One Diver- unmutes mics and ears of line 5 (nearest line to diver stairs into the tank). It also unmutes the utilities CC swim deck LSPK, From CC ICOM, and TO CC ICOM.
  • -Two Diver- unmutes mics and ears of lines 5 and 4. It also unmutes the utilities CC swim deck LSPK, From CC ICOM, and TO CC ICOM.
  • -Three Diver- unmutes mics and ears of lines 5, 4, and 3. It also unmutes the utilities CC swim deck LSPK, From CC ICOM, and TO CC ICOM.
  • -Four Diver- unmutes mics and ears of lines 5, 4, 3 and 2. It also unmutes the utilities CC swim deck LSPK, From CC ICOM, and TO CC ICOM.
  • -Five diver- unmutes mics and ears of lines 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. It also unmutes the utilities CC swim deck LSPK, From CC ICOM, and TO CC ICOM.

Utility:

  • -From CC ICOM- This is the beltpacks audio to the divers. If this is muted, belt packs will talk to each other but divers will not be able to hear them. If divers need just adjustment of the belt pack volume in their ears, this is the place to adjust that. There is no issue leaving this always unmuted with volume raised.
  • -To CC ICOM- This is divers to the belt packs. If this is muted, divers could talk with each other but not the belt packs. There is no issue leaving this always on and unmuted. Right now I have set this at -1 db and ideally it stays at that level always.
  • -To CC PA- this is to send the divers to the FOH system. Beltpacks get to that FOH system through a direct signal that is not shown in the control system.
  • -Test- is White Noise for troubleshooting.
  • -CC Swim Deck LSPK- this is the Swim Deck Speaker.
  • -Log Off- This will take you back to the UCI top menu.

Dive Inputs:

  • -DM1- is dive line 1's mic. (the line nearest the acclamation tank)
  • -DM2- is dive line 2's mic.
  • -DM 3- is dive line 3's mic.
  • -DM 4- is dive line 4's mic.
  • -DM 5- is dive line 5's mic.
  • -DM 6- is dive line 6's mic.
  • -RP 1 Mic- is the mic for the emergency headset that plugs into the rack.

Outputs:

  • -Same as the Dive inputs but for the mask ears
  • RP1 EAR- is the ear portion of the emergency headset that plugs into the rack.

RTS Beltpacks:
