Set Up

Step 1

Locate the portable projector and press the power button, see image 1. The portable projector has an internal battery that can run for one hour. As the battery starts to drain the projector's brightness begins to fade. To prevent this from occurring plug the projector into a power source so it can run indefinitely.

Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds. If 60 seconds have passed and the projector hasn’t turned on, locate the remote control, point it at the projector, and select the power button.

You will know the projector is on when you see a flashing light and see GIMI projecting onto a nearby surface.

Step 2

Once the projector is turned on and projecting onto a wall you will see a screen that reads, “Keystone.” Keystone occurs when the projector is placed on an angled surface. The keystone projector will automatically adjust the projected image to ensure a perfectly aligned image output. If necessary, you can use the projector remote control to manually adjust the image.

Once the screen has been aligned use the projector’s back button on the remote control, see Image 2, to direct the user to a homepage that is like a smart TV’s homepage.

If the projector’s remote control isn’t working try replacing the batteries, there are extra AAA batteries in the bag.

Step 3

Grab a laptop and the HDMI cord.

Plug the source end of the HDMI cable into your computer. Plug the display end of the HDMI cable into the projector, see Image 3.

Once you have connected the HDMI cords the screen should automatically start projecting the laptop.

If it doesn’t, ensure the HDMI cords are plugged into the correct locations (source-computer, display-projector). If the cords are in the correct spot and this problem persists, manually change the output by selecting the input icon on the projector remote control, see Image 4, and select HDMI.

Step 4

Once the projector is properly mirroring your laptop, check to ensure you have sound. Sound is controlled by the projector remote control, see Image 5 below.

If the volume is turned up but there is no sound, go onto the laptop and ensure the sound settings are enabled and turned on. Additionally make sure the sound output is connected to the projector, XGIMI TV (see Image 6 below).

Step 5

Once video, sound, and PowerPoint are setup place the projector on a flat surface (table, desk, tripod) with the projector facing a flat wall or screen. Choose a location where attendees won’t be able to accidentally bump or move the projector.

Step 7

If the host of the event has a screen or a blank wall you can disregard this last step. Otherwise, you need to set up the projection screen. The first step is to remove the stand/tripod. Remove by pressing down on the latches and sliding out the stand/tripod.

Once the stand has been removed, extend the legs to their full height. Next insert the screen onto the stand in the opposite direction from how it was stored, see Image 9. It is usable in the wrong direction, but the screen will be extremely low to the ground.

Once the screen is attached to the stand, two people can start extending the screen. Each person will press down on a latch, see Image 9, and begin to extend.

When extending listen for two clicks. When you hear a second click the screen is fully extended. The screen can be adjusted to fit the size of your presentation space and can be made smaller without retracting.

Step 8

Once the presentation is over and the projector is no longer needed it can be turned off the same way it was turned on, hold down the power button until the projector turns off or use the remote control to power off the projector. Once the projector has been turned off, start unplugging the HDMI cords. Please be careful not to bend the HDMI cords sharply as they are fiber optic.

To retract the screen, each person will press down on a side latch and begin to slide inward until the screen is fully closed. Remove the screen by lifting it off the stand, fold up the legs and tighten shut. Lastly slide the stand back into the folded-up screen and reattach the way you found it.
