Specifications:
- Laptop must have an HDMI output, or a USB-C output that can be used with an HDMI converter.
- Mac or PC laptops are compatible.
- Windows 10, updated to the most recent version, is highly recommended, as it is what the projector has been tested with.
- Phones and tablets are not compatible with the projector.
- The projector resolution is 1920x1080. To prevent letterboxing(a black border being added), ensure that your media dimensions are 1920x1080 and that your laptop display resolution is set to 1920x1080.
- If not paying for Wi-Fi connection, then the media you wish to play on the projector must be downloaded to your laptop prior to the event.
At the Guest Services counter:
1. Using an HDMI cable, plug from the laptop HDMI port (if your laptop does not have an HDMI port you will need a USB C to HDMI converter) into the HDMI 1 port located under the Guest Services desk.
2. If you need to plug your laptop in for charging, please plug in to the power strip under the Guest Services desk, not into the outlet labeled Blinds Panel #17, AV USE ONLY.3. In your laptop display settings, set your Display resolution to 1920x1080.
4. If you want your laptop and the projector to show different things, such as a PowerPoint on the projector and notes on your laptop, under Multiple Displays select “Extend these displays.” If you would like your laptop and the projector to show the same thing, select “Duplicate these displays.”
Laptop on Podium:
1. If you are using your laptop on a podium, then you will need to connect your laptop to the projector through a floor pocket in the Puget Sound Hall. The Aquarium Event Representative or AV Technician will direct you to this.
2. Using an HDMI cable, plug from the laptop HDMI port (if your laptop does not have an HDMI port you will need a USB C to HDMI converter) into the HDMI AV1 port if at the floor pocket by the Window on Washington Waters tank, or the HDMI AV2 port if at the floor pocket by the donor wall. You can plug your laptop into the orange power outlets in the floor pocket for charging.
3. In your laptop display settings, set your Display resolution to 1920x1080.
4. If you want your laptop and the projector to show different things, such as a PowerPoint on the projector and notes on your laptop, under Multiple Displays select “Extend these displays.” If you would like your laptop and the projector to show the same thing, select “Duplicate these displays.”
Troubleshooting:
Projector display is stretched, compressed, or black borders are added.
Make sure your laptop display resolution is set to 1920x1080.
Make sure the dimensions of your media are 1920x1080. Convert your media to the proper size if necessary.
Unplug both ends of the HDMI cable and plug them back in. Press firmly, and make sure both ends are fully plugged in.
Restart your laptop while it is plugged into the HDMI cable.
Try a different HDMI cable.
No image on projector.
Unplug both ends of the HDMI cable and plug them back in. Press firmly, and make sure both ends are fully plugged in.
Restart your laptop while it is plugged into the HDMI cable.
Check with the Event Representative that the projector is on, and the proper input is selected.
Try a different HDMI cable.
No audio.
Make sure your laptop is unmuted and the volume is turned up.
Check with the Event Representative that the aquarium audio system is unmuted.Make sure the media on the laptop is unmuted and the volume is turned up.
Unplug both ends of the HDMI cable and plug them back in. Press firmly, and make sure both ends are fully plugged in.
In your computer Sound settings, set your sound output device to EPSON PJ.
In the sound settings of the program that you are playing your media from, set the audio device or audio output to EPSON PJ.
Try a different HDMI cable.
